Martha Poon is an Adjunct Research Affiliate for the Committee on Global Thought and an affiliate of the Department of Anthropology at the New School.

Poon is a social scientist interested in how data-intensive systems are changing global capital flows and the public’s relationship to finance. She is a graduate of the Science Studies Program at University of California, San Diego and has been a research fellow at the London School of Economics and Data & Society Research Institute. In addition to a position as Visiting Scholar, she participates in the new CGT graduate course, “Understanding Global Money”.
